5 Things You Need to Know Today: August 2

Children can receive a free book at the West Roxbury Library tonight at 6 p.m. and a free storytelling session thanks to ReadBoston's Storymobile.

  1. The will be at the West Roxbury Library at 6 p.m. tonight for a free storytelling session. Children up to 8-years-old receive a free book for attending.
  2. Every night this week at 8 p.m. is Shakespeare on the Common. This year's show is "Coriolanus" which may not be suitable for children of all ages. Free. For more info or reserving chairs click here. 175 Tremont St., Boston.
  3. Have you taken  and vote for your favorite pizza place, dry cleaners and more.
  4. Practice for Parkway Pop Warner started on Monday night, but boys and girls ages 7-15 can still register. Read more here. You can sign-up tonight at  from 6-8 p.m., but make sure you bring the necessary documentation.
  5. Today is the second day of August. The month of August was named after Augustus Caesar.
