2. A reminder: the Labor Day holiday has pushed trash day in West Roxbury back one day.
3. It's back-to-school week in Boston. West Roxbury Patch will have information for students and parents throughout the week, as well as back-to-school features this week and next. Grades 1-12 in Boston Public Schools (in West Roxbury, that's the , , , and Schools, as well as the ) and start classes Thursday. BPS kindergarteners begin school on Monday. The starts on Wednesday, while started last week.
4. Speaking of back-to-school season, tomorrow the  will host a Kindergarten Days Celebration. Children who will be entering Kindergarten (K0, K1, & K2) for the first time in the Boston Public Schools are invited. Wear your yellow Countdown to Kindergarten T-shirt and join the fun. 10:30 a.m. - noon. Free.
5. Have you heard of the 3/50 Project? The idea behind the project is to spread awareness of the positive effects of shopping at independent businesses, like many of the shops that line Centre Street.
