Come ring in the season with Mayor Menino and Santa as they light the wreath and kick of the citywide Trolley Tour, Dec. 2, at 5:15 p.m. at . Snacks and refreshments will be provided by and Roche Bros. Santa is arriving promptly at 5:30 p.m.

at Jim Roche Community Ice Arena

FMC Ice Sports will be hosting the 2nd annual Toys for Tots DJ Public Skate Charity Fundraiser, Dec. 2, 8 to 8:50 p.m. Public skate attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots program. Each guest who donates a toy will receive a free public skate pass for a future visit to the arena and a live ice-side DJ will be taking requests and playing today's hottest hits. $5 general admission; $4 rental skates (first come first serve).

at Emmanuel Episcopal Church

Join the  for a Christmas Open House on Saturday, Dec. 3, 3 to 5 p.m. with a special visit from Santa. Bring the kids for ornament making, face painting, games, and free refreshments.
There will also be handmade jewelry and crafts and a holiday bake sale.

Mass, Christmas Tree Lighting and Supper at Holy Name

Mass with 100 singers will be celebrated at followed by the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Social Supper, Sunday, Dec. 3, at 4 p.m. The HNPS Home & School Assoc. will host the Supper in the Parish Hall. Scottish and Irish Dancers will perform. Tickets are $7 adults, $5 children, $25/max family.

Bay State Model Railroad Museum Holiday Celebration

The Bay State Model Railroad Museum invites the public to its annual holiday celebration with Santa, Dec. 4, at 760 South St, Roslindale. Trains operate from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (2nd floor, no handicap access). Santa arrives at noon (street level floor). Admission is $5 for adults and free for children. There is no cost to visit Santa.

Catholic Memorial School's Christmas concert

's annual Christmas concert will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 7 p.m. at Holy Name Parish. The concert will include traditional favorites performed by the eighth grade chorus, The JazzMen, and The Chamber Ensemble. The concert will also include special solos and readings by students from all grade levels.

 will host a community Messiah Sing on Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. Lend your voice to the Christmas portion of one of the greatest choral masterpieces, Handel's Messiah (or just come to listen and enjoy!). Bring your own score or borrow one. The school welcomes organist Brian Jones again this year to accompany the Handel, as well as guest conductors from local choruses and Boston area soloists. The evening begins with a special guest performance by The Sly Voxes — directed by Kerry Brennan and including RL alumni and current parents. Admission is free and a reception will follow.

Stop by 's West Roxbury Office on Saturday, Dec. 10, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and have your picture taken with Santa. Don't forget your Christmas Lists! Refreshments will be served.

Join the 2nd Annual Holiday Stroll, Dec. 10, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and support West Roxbury businesses this holiday season. All participating businesses will be offering promotions and/or give-a-ways. Kickoff the stroll at where you can visit with Santa (12-1 p.m.), get a free slice of pizza from t, enjoy a wine tasting at and much more! End the stroll at the from 4 to 5 p.m., for appetizers, cocktails, and raffle prizes.

Get a stamp in your Holiday Stroll Passport at every business you visit, for every stamp in your passport you will get one ticket for a raffle. Holiday Stroll Passports will be available at www.wrms.org on Dec. 3, or get your passport when you start the stroll at West On Centre. Passports are free and you must have a passport to receive give-a-ways and promotions.

Walk the Labyrinth at the Stratford Street United Church

The Labyrinth at is opened to the public on Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Dec. 13, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Dec. 17, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Dec. 18, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Advent and Christmas Concert at St. Theresa of Avila Parish

annual Advent and Christmas Concert which will take place on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 4 p.m. in the main Church. The concert features the talented Children's Choir, Choristers, Parish Choir, Instrumentalists and Soloists. Traditional selections include: O Come All Ye Faithful, Silent Night, Joy To The World, and O Holy Night. A reception will follow immediately in the Pavilion.

ReadBoston will host a shopping party featuring more than 20 local artists and merchants offering everything from jewelry to kitchenwares. Come
finish (or start!) your Christmas shopping while contributing to ReadBoston’s literacy programs. Choose from artisans and vendors offering gift items, jewelry, children’s books, accessories, stationery, handbags, kids’ items, hospitality gifts, boutique clothing and more!

The event will be held on Monday, Dec. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at West on Centre. Admission is free. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided by West on Centre. There will also be a cash bar. 

Christmas Pageant at Stratford Street United Church

The children at the Stratford Street United Church invite the public to their Christmas pageant which will take place during worship on Sunday, Dec. 18
at 10 a.m.
