O'Malley Re-Elected to District 6 City Council Seat

He beat out challenger Luis Valerio for another term in the seat.

Boston City Councilor Matt O’Malley has been re-elected. He'll serve his second full term and two more years in the District 6 seat on the city council.

O'Malley took over 85 percent of the vote with over 17,000 votes in the district, according to unofficial city figures.

O’Malley, who beat challenger Luis Valerio, has retained the seat for the third time.

O’Malley was originally elected into office via special election in November of 2010. He won a re-election bid for a full council term in November of 2011.

His district includes the neighborhoods of West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain, parts of Roslindale and Mission Hill, and the Back of the Hill.
