A Soldier's Play

Roxbury Repertory Theater presents Charles Fuller's "A Soldier's Play," running from October 24 through November 2.

When somebody kills the black sergeant of a black platoon, Captain Taylor, their white superior, fears the worst. In 1944 Louisiana, there is a good chance that the murderer is the local Klan or a white officer. But when a black captain is assigned to investigate the slaying, Taylor is certain that the army is looking to coverup the truth. However, Captain Davenport has no intention on being a token. He quickly discovers the sergeant has ruffled the feathers of both his black and white compatriots after interrogating most of the company. And despite Taylor's many attempts to undermine and intimidate him, Davenport finds himself more determined than ever to apprehend the right man regardless of rank or race.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors. Mainstage Theater is wheelchair accessible. For tickets and information, please contact Pamela Green at 617-541-5380 or pgreen@rcc.mass.edu.
