Boston Bikes Presents its First Women’s Bike Social: Boston Breakers Ride

Boston Bikes’ new women’s bike initiative is pleased to present the Boston Breakers Ride, the first ride of a series of Women’s Bike Socials to take place in Boston throughout the summer. On Thursday, June 19th at 5:30, this first bike social, the Boston Breakers Ride, will begin at the Jamaica Pond Boat House and continue along the Emerald Necklace to Harvard Stadium, where the Boston Breakers Women’s Soccer Team will take on the Seattle Reign later that evening. Part learning experience, part social outing, this ride welcomes adult women riders of all experience levels, but is geared for those new to road riding.

The Boston Breakers ride is the first of a series of bike socials being organized by Boston Bikes’ new Women’s Program. The goal of this program is to spread the joy and benefits of biking in Boston, and to encourage more women to take to the streets by bike. The Bike Social rides are typically 6-8 miles along a relatively flat route, and at a pace that encourages socializing and interaction. Each ride features a unique theme or destination.

Discounted tickets to the Boston Breakers soccer match are also available for those that participate.
