Councilor O'Malley Seeks to Curb Litter and Increase Public Recycling, Environment & Parks Committee Hearing to be Held April 17

Boston City Councilor O’Malley, chair of the City Council’s Committee on Environment & Parks, will chair a public hearing to discuss ways to reduce litter and promote recycling in Boston.

Councilor O’Malley, who filed an order for a hearing on January 29, seeks to expand the city’s use of public trash compactors and recycling bins, explore the use of new, cutting-edge receptacles, and re-evaluate litter fines in Boston.

Councilor O’Malley called for the hearing after a group of residents in Jamaica Plain asked for his help with a litter problem in the neighborhood business districts.
