West Roxbury Father Seeks Help to Equip Home for Twin Sons

A man currently living with his family in West Roxbury is seeking help in raising enough money to equip his home in support of his twin boys. 

Barry Wiener, along with the help of his oldest son, Eddie, has been raising his 13-year-old twins Dan, who is legally blind and has a brain injury, and Andrew, who is blind and in a wheel chair with severe brain damage, in addition to cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder, according to a GoFundMe.com page Wiener set up to help raise funds

"I love my children more than anything and want them to live in a properly equipped home," he wrote. "I'm asking for any help that you can provide in assisting me in reaching this goal of a well equipped proper home for my sons. I want to thank you in advance for your generosity and support."

As of this writing, the page has received $77,031 from 544 people in three months, exceeding Wiener's goal of raising $75,000.

Additionally, the Irish Social Club of Boston in West Roxbury will host a "New Year, New Addition Fundraiser" on Friday, Feb. 7 in support of the Wiener family. Doors open at 7 p.m., and admission is $20. The event will feature a light buffet and music by DJ Kevin O'Connell.
