Family of Injured West Roxbury Teen Seek Donations for Fundraiser

This fundraiser for Mark will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 7 p.m. at the Demetris Function Facility in Foxboro.

A West Roxbury family is looking for donations for a fundraiser for Mark Delamere, the teen injured in serious car accident in September.

Delamere family is asking the community for an auction item for the Mark Delamere STRONG Fundraiser, which will be held in November to benefit the West Roxbury teen.

The donated items will directly pay  for his medical bills and recovery, according to his family.

“We would like to ask Your Business to donate a Specific Auction Item,” the family said in a statement. “This item could represent hundreds of dollars in auction funds raised. Please be sure to include any marketing collateral, brochures, and relevant details about the item you donate, so we can include an accurate description for potential bidders.” 

Mark, a 15 year old freshman at Boston Latin Academy lives in West Roxbury with his parents, Mark and Sheila.   The teen has been an avid basketball, baseball, hockey, and lacrosse player, playing all over the Parkway Area since he was a young boy. 

On September 6, while receiving a ride home from school, Mark was involved in a car accident on the Arborway  that has left him paralyzed from the waist down.  Mark has been transferred to The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, which specializes in treating individuals with spinal cord injuries.

“Mark faces significant challenges ahead of him to deal with his injuries and is determined to work as hard as he can and to never give up hope that he will walk again,” his family said in a statement. 

This fundraiser for Mark will be held on Saturday, November 16 at 7 p.m. at the Demetris Function Facility in Foxboro. Tickets are $40 in advance and can be purchased at Kellehers Bar & Grille in Roslindale.  Tickets are $50 at the door.

“We anticipate a large crowd and are seeking donations from businesses and individuals who would like to join us in celebrating the community and supporting Mark in his battle towards recovery,” his family said.
