William "Bill" McDonough, 83, of West Roxbury passed away April 23, was very involved in the community, serving as president for the West Roxbury Civic & Improvement Association.

William P. “Bill” McDonough of West Roxbury passed away Monday April 23, 2012 at the age of 83.

Originally from Charlestown, Bill was the beloved son of the late Catherine and Thomas McDonough, and brother to Vincent McDonough of Onset, Mary McCarthy of Dorchester, Patricia Allington of Florida, Frank McDonough of Westport, and the late Bud McDonough.

A retired attorney from the Federal Trade Commission, Bill was very involved in the community, serving as president for the West Roxbury Civic & Improvement Association.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Ruth (Kelley); daughters Karen Manning of Canton, Susan Hertrich of Atkinson, NH, Marybeth Cabana of Mansfield, and Jean Petitti of West Roxbury; loving grandchildren Meredith Horgan, Emily Manning, Kristen Petitti, Jackie Manning, Molly Manning, Zach Hertrich, Lauren Cabana, and Gabriel Perea. Bill also leaves behind countless friends and relatives all of whom will miss him dearly.

 

Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home, 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury, on Friday April 27th at 10 a.m. A Funeral mass will be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Thursday from 3–7 p.m.
