Editor's Notebook: Where Did Lord Mayor Gormley Go??

With rumors flying up and down Centre Street about Richie Gormley's whereabouts, it's best to let the imagination run wild...

Several weeks ago I received a tip from a trusted source - that was going to be out of town for a while - and there rumblings about his reign being overthrown.

So far, no one has reported any Saroufim tanks rolling down Centre Street. The Mary Mulvey Madness has not made its way from JP to Spring Street. And the Gormley Funeral Home has continued business as usual.

, Gormley's appointed Deputy Mayor, said that Gormley has been away on an "international relations trip" for the last couple of weeks, but could not elaborate more. He said that he and the Lord Mayor have been in constant contact about West Roxbury, while Gormley has been abroad, possibly at a sheep farm in Ireland.

TD added he has not been aware of any rebels wanting to take down the Gormley regime.

So what do you think Lord Mayor Richie Gormley has been up to on his international relations trip? Meeting with kings, queens, and prime ministers?

Feel free to let your imaginations run wild in the comments section. Just keep it clean for kids to read. If you wouldn't say it in a sixth grade classroom...

No doubt Mayor Gormley has been in his palace in Co. Roscommon in Ireland preparing it for the Irish team in the olympics that won a number of medals. Rumor has it that he wanted the queen of England to visit his estate when she was in Ireland however he hadn't the special living quarters for the queen ready for occupancy and the local governmenr would not give him an occupancy permit so the queen could stay with him. Other rumors indicate that the Lord Mayor of W/R is going public with his business setting up in Ireland and England. I'm certain we will find the answers when the mayor returns from his extended vacation.

Interesting observations, Sir Richard. You failed to mention that the Lord Mayor was competing for gold in the sheep stealing event, disguised as a milk maid. I heard he took the gold and feasted on lamb chops with the Queen after the medals were distributed. He was delighted to hear that he would not have to pay taxes on his winning stipend of $25,000 nor on the value of the gold in his medal.

I literally just saw him this morning leaving Dunkin Donuts on Spring. Obviously he's up to big business dealings and needed a cup of joe! The coffee in Ireland wasn't as good as our coffee so he came back for a quick cup and was off again...
