WRBPA's Family in Need 2011

Help the West Roxbury Business and Professional Association help those less fortunate this holiday season.

For many years, the West Roxbury Business and Professional Association has organized groceries deliveries to families with children and at-risk seniors and adults in the community at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

For your information, this year’s deliveries will be made on Tuesday, November 22 and Friday, December 23. We will meet at . both days at 9:30 a.m. in the driveway abutting the MBTA Commuter Rail Parking Lot. Those who volunteer to deliver are members of the business and residential communities in the area.

We expect that this year’s groceries will cost approximately $40+ per delivery and we depend upon the businesses and residents to help make this long-standing tradition of reaching out to help possible. Last year we delivered to over 130 sets of groceries.  We compile our list of those in need with the assistance of the YMCA, Ethos/AgeWell West Roxbury, the Boston Police District E-5 Department and those known to the WRBPA.

We also “adopt” a family or two at Christmas who are in particularly difficult circumstances. More on this in December.

If you can help, we would be most grateful. Make your donation payable to: Family in Need and mail to: Post Office Box 320113, West Roxbury, MA  02132.

If you can help us make the deliveries, please email me back ASAP.  We meet both days noted above at 9:30 a.m. at Roche Bros. near their driveway abutting the MBTA Commuter Rail Parking Lot.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.  We are most thankful to you for your help.

If you have any questions, give me a call at the telephone number noted above or email me at WRBPA@aol.com

Thanks,

Mary Mulvey Jacobson
