Boston Fire Commissioner to Resign

Boston Fire Commissioner Roderick Fraser has announced that he will be stepping down, according to reports this week.

Fraser, who submitted his resignation Monday to Mayor Thomas Menino, will step down as Mayor-elect Marty Walsh prepares to step into his new role, according to a report on NECN.com.

Fraser's move follows that of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, who left his role in November to pursue a fellowship at the John F. Kennedy School of Government; Boston Fire Chief Steve Abraira also resigned in June following heavy criticism after the Boston Marathon bombings.
