Fire at Centre Street Home in West Roxbury

Smoke was showing from a residential home on Centre Street in West Roxbury after 4 p.m. on Thursday.


Boston Firefighters responded to a fire at 2089 Centre St., in West Roxbury for a fire on the top floor of a 2.5-story home.

Boston Fire Department spokesperson Steve MacDonald said firefighters responded to the location at 4:18 p.m., and the fire was put out quickly. He said Boston EMS was requested for one person, but it was not clear if medical attention was needed for an occupant or a firefighter, but it was not believed to be serious condition. 

MacDonald added that a box spring and mattress were removed by firefighters, which may have been on fire.

There were reports of smoke showing from the top floor of a 2.5-floor residential building, according to Boston_Fireman's twitter.
