Five individuals have been displaced by today's fire at residential Centre Street home in West Roxbury.

Five individuals have been displaced by today's fire at a Centre Street home, and the Red Cross has quickly jumped in to assist the victims.

The fire at 2089 Centre St., a 2.5-story residential home was quickly put out by Boston Firefighters, but there was enough smoke and water damage that the location is not inhabitable for the interim, according to Boston Fire Department spokesperson Steve MacDonald.

MacDonald said three individuals lived in one apartment, and two were in the other apartment.
