Level 2 Sex Offender Fails to Register in West Roxbury, Criminal Complaint Sought

The following article is based on a Boston Police report.


Boston Police were seeking a criminal complaint against a male Level 2 sex offender residing in West Roxbury, who failed to register as a sex offender. 

The suspect's name was not included in the police report because he was not arrested, but he was placed in custody on Aug. 1, 2013, by the Boston Police Department's SORI Unit, according to a Boston Police report.

The suspect was convicted on Jan. 5, 1988, of one count of indecent assault and battery on a person of underage and assault with intent to rape, according to a police report. 

Complaints were to be sought in the West Roxbury District Court for failing to register as a sex offender.

There are three levels of being a sex offender. A level 2 offender, according to Mass.gov's website, "Where the Board determines that the risk of reoffense is moderate and the degree of dangerousness posed to the public is such that a public safety interest is served by public availability of registration information, it shall give a level 2 designation to the sex offender."

The public may access information regarding a level 2 offender through the local police department and  through the Sex Offender Registry Board.
