Officials Plan Benefit Concert in Honor of Fallen Boston Firefighters

The event is planned for Monday, April 7 at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston.

Officials in Boston are preparing a special benefit concert Monday in honor of fallen Boston Firefighters Lt. Edward Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy.

The concert, dubbed the "Boston Firefighter Response Concert," is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, April 7 at the Paradise Rock Club, Boston Magazine reported Friday.

The Great American Foundation, a locally-based nonprofit that donates to Massachusetts-based charitable organizations, is hosting the event, which is meant to raise money for the Walsh and Kennedy families, according to Boston Magazine.

The two firefighters were laid to rest this week after they were killed while battling a massive Back Bay fire on Wednesday, March 26. Thousands gathered for Walsh's funeral in Watertown on Wednesday and Kennedy's funeral in West Roxbury on Thursday.

Monday's benefit concert will include performances by Dalton and the Sheriffs; a raffle and silent auction will be held, as well. Local officials, first responders and other local figures are expected to attend Monday, according to Boston Magazine.
