Roslindale Woman Charged with Shoplifting Baby Formula from Roche Bros

The suspect was brought back to Roche Bros and store security IDed her. The following info is from the Boston Police, and where charges are mentioned it does not indicate a conviction.

 

A Roslindale woman allegedly stole 15 cans of baby formula from Roche Bros, and tried to walk past Boston Police when approached about it after leaving the store.

On Sept. 24 around 5:21 p.m., Alexandria Vega, of 342 Blue Ledge Drive, Roslindale, was arrested and charged with larceny shoplifting of more than $200.

Boston Police caught up with the suspect and a second woman near 64 Tyndale Street in Roslindale, after a description of two female suspects were provided by Roche Bros store security.

Officers stopped the two women and stated they wanted to speak to them, according to a Boston Police report. One suspect was cooperative and stopped. The other suspect, Vega, continued toward the officer and attempted to walk past the officer, and then stepped off the sidewalk and threw down a black bag containing numerous cans, and tried to walk past the officer again. The suspect was then placed on the ground by the officer, according to a police report.

Both suspects were brought back to Roche Bros, and a security officer alleged he saw Vega place numerous cans of Enfamil baby formula into a black bag and teal backpack until the shelf was empty. The security officer then followed the suspect outside as she did not pay for the items. The security officer said the other suspect was waiting outside of the store. The formula was worth $218.85 for 15 cans.
