Boston Police arrested a Brockton man for allegedly assaulting a victim on Weld Street, and then trying to intimidate the same victim.

On Aug. 30 around 11:05 p.m., Kenneth Johnson, of 6 Monarch St., Brockton, was arrested and charged with assault and battery and intimidating a witness, according to a Boston Police report.

Police were called by witnesses who said a male was hitting a female in front of 123 Weld St., West Roxbury, and the individuals then proceeded to Kelleher's Pub on Centre Street.

Police located two people in front of the pub who fit the descriptions provided by witnesses. Officers approached them and noticed dried blood on the lip of the female suspect, as well redness on her right cheek, according to a police report.

Upon separating the two, police were able to determine a physical confrontation had allegedly occurred.

During the booking process the suspect called the victim and allegedly said, "You're not going to testify, are you?"
