Update: Used Cars Arson Cost $30,000 Damage in West Roxbury

Eight used Subarus were damaged at Nick's Parkway Auto Repair late Sunday night.

 

A Boston Fire Department captain estimated that $30,000 of damage was caused due to an arson that destroyed eight used cars in West Roxbury.

At Nick's Parkway Auto Repair and Gas at 1200A VFW Parkway, two used Subarus were lit afire and that spread to six other used Subarus, said Boston Fire Department spokesperson Steve MacDonald.

Boston Fire Department's Ladder 25, Engine 30 and 55 arrived around 12:36 a.m. on Monday, and found several vehicles on fire, according to a Boston Police report. Noting the fire was suspicious, a BFD captain notified the Arson Unit.

A broken window in the rear of the building was noticed, which could've been due to the fire.

MacDonald told Patch that a 911 call notified emergency services of the fire, which was in the back of the building off the VFW Parkway. He said it did not appear there were any surveillance cameras at the scene.
