West Roxbury Man Arraigned For Assault After Sox Parade

Witnesses at the scene identified a West Roxbury man as kicking a Revere man who was already down on the ground.

A West Roxbury man was arraigned on charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon (shod foot) after he allegedly kicked a 25-year-old-Revere man during a fight on Saturday after the Red Sox parade.

Liam Browne, 23 of West Roxbury was arrested along with a Dedham man after fights broke out near a crowded downtown bars after the Sox parade in the Milk Street area.

Jake Wark, Suffolk County District Attorney Press Secretary, said Browne allegedly kicked the head of a 25-year-old Revere man who was already down on the ground, and Boyle allegedly kicked the head of a 23-year-old Sterling man who was likewise already down.

Witnesses told police a man had walked by the victim and punched him in the head, knocking him to the ground.  A second suspect then kicked the victim repeatedly in the head before running and getting into a vehicle on nearby Broad Street.

Wark said the Revere man was initially unresponsive but was able to speak with officers before being transported to MGH and is expected to survive.

At least one witness showed responding officers a video showing a portion of the fight while others at the scene identified Browne as kicking a man who was already down on the ground, according to Wark. 

Browne was released on the $1,000 he posted previously. Boyle was held on a total of $4,000 cash bail, which represents $1,500 more than he posted following his arrest 

Both men will appear back in court on Jan. 4.
