Boston Police ended up arresting an inebriated West Roxbury man after he became combatitive while officers were trying to just give him a ride home.

On Feb. 19 around 8:05 p.m., Kevin George Bowes, 10 Maplewood St., West Roxbury, was arrested and charged with assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.

Police were called to Redd's in Rozzie and spoke with an employee who said the suspect had been asked to leave after being confrontational with patrons. Officers noted the suspect was intoxicated and told him he was asked to leave by management, according to a Boston Police report. The suspect was escorted out of the restaurant and became confrontational with police.

The suspect agreed to taking a ride home from police to Maplewood Street in West Roxbury where he lives. While in the back of the transport vehicle, the suspect was seen by an officer allegedly throw the onboard camera in the wagon and pull up his pants legs and scrape his legs along the rough wagon floor trying to make them bleed.

At the suspect's home the transport doors were open and the suspect allegedly became confrontational with the officers. The suspect would not let the transport door be closed. The suspect allegedly pushed an officer, and when being placed under arrest he tried to resist arrest. While being transported the suspect allegedly banged his head in the transport repeatedly.
