West Roxbury Man Busted in Alleged Cocaine Deal in Roslindale

Undercover Boston Police arrested two men after witnessing an alleged drug deal in Roslindale.

On Aug. 23 at 6:25 p.m., James M. Callahan, of 23 Dow Road, West Roxbury, was arrested and charged with possession of a class B drug, cocaine; and Neurel Carr, of 198 Durnell Ave. #2, Roslindale, was arrested and charged with distribution of a class B drug, cocaine, according to a Boston Police report.

Police were surveilling the area of 198 Durnell Ave., due to residential complaints of alleged drug activity. Officers allegedly saw Callahan picked up Carr on Durnell Avenue, take a short drive, and then Carr got out of the vehicle.

Police approached the vehicle and saw a hand-tied plastic bag on Callahan's lap, according to a police report. The bag was retrieved and believed to be cocaine. He was taken out of his car and charged with possession. 

Police saw Carr go into a barbershop at 4433 Washington St., and followed him inside the business and arrested him. During book the suspect allegedly said, "You guys must have gotten new cars because I didn't even see you this time."
