Woman Wanted for Threatening West Roxbury Man, Allegedly Curled Into Ball, Kicked Police During Warrant Arrest in Roslindale

A Dedham woman wanted for making threats to commit a crime and annoying phone calls, allegedly curled into a ball and tried to kicked Boston Police away during a street arrest in Roslindale Village.

On Feb. 2, around 5 p.m., Karen O'Neil, of 16 Maverick St., Dedham, was arrested on a default warrant out of West Roxbury District Court for threats to commit a crime and for annoying telephone calls. The warrant originated from threatening to commit a crime and annoying phone calls to a West Roxbury man on Lorette Street in 2010, according to a Boston Police report.

While on patrol, an officer recognized the suspect enter a vehicle in the area of Archdale and Washington streets in Roslindale, and began to follow the vehicle in a cruiser. The officer confirmed a default warrant for the suspect, and pulled the vehicle over in front of Napper Tandy's at 4193 Washington St., according to a Boston Police report. 

The officer walked to the passenger side and informed the suspect she had a warrant for her arrest. The suspect then allegedly ran out of the car and into the entry way of the restaurant, but did not get into the business. She then "rolled on the sidewalk, curled into a baill and was trying to kick away from having the officer place the handcuffs on her wrists," according to a Boston Police report.

The officer requested assistance and more units responded to the scene to place the cuffs on the suspect's wrists. The suspect refused to have her pictures taken during the booking process and "would throw herself on the floor," according to a Boston Police report. She was placed in the female holding cell where she continued to scream at officers while kicking the door.
