City Council At-Large Candidate Martin J. Keogh and his wife Pamela Corey-Keogh announced the birth of their daughter, Penelope Corey Keogh.
The baby was born Thursday morning and weighs 6 pounds and 13 ounces. Pam and Penelope are both healthy and doing well, Keogh said in a statement.
The birth of his daughter comes just a week after Keogh's father died.
“My father died a week ago today at 1:59pm," he said. "My melancholy mood from my father’s death has been lifted by Penelope’s birth. Now we need a World Series victory to top it all off.”
Penelope is Martin and Pamela's second child. The couple already has a 2-year-old son, Nolan, who is looking forward to meeting his little sister later today.
Keogh will run for election on Nov. 5.
