City Councilor Matt O’Malley said the bus driver’s union strike Tuesday morning was “outrageous” among other things via a series of tweets from his official account (@MattOMalley):
"The actions today by the BPS school bus driver's union are outrageous. It cannot and will not be tolerated. (1/3)"
"There are proper channels in place for union members to place grievances. Jeopardizing the safety of our children is not one of them. (2/3)"
"Please call the BPS Transportation Hotline: 617-635-9520 or my office: 617-635-4220 or visithttp://bostonpublicschools.org/alert/boston-school-bus-drivers-stage-illegal-work-action-significant-delays-some-trips-will-not-occ … w/ any questions. (3/3)"
This morning, school bus drivers in Boston went on strike leaving only 30 of Boston's 650 school buses on the road.
O'Malley is the city councilor representing District 6, which includes the neighborhoods of Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury.
