Firefighters, Teamsters Endorse Flaherty for Boston City Council

Michael Flaherty is running for at-large city councilor, after losing two years ago in the same race, and four years ago while running for mayor.

Former city councilor Michael Flaherty picked up some big endorsements recently in his quest to be elected as an at-large Boston City Councilor once again. Flaherty was endorsed by Boston Firefighters Local 718 and Teamsters Local 25 and Teamsters Local 122.

Teamsters Local 25 President and Principal Officer Sean O'Brien said, "Michael has shown great leadership on the Boston City Council and has always been a voice for working families. We're proud to endorse his return to the Boston City Council and look forward to working with him on the campaign trail on through victory in November." Local 25 is the largest Teamsters' union in New England, representing 11,000 men and women.

Rich Paris, president of Local 718, said that during a time of contract disputes, Flaherty stood with the men and women of Boston Firefighters 718 for their contract negotiations.
