Jog on Shutdown National Mall Sparks Outrage for Rep. Lynch

Lynch, who voted against Obamacare, called the shutdown over the health care law a disgrace.

By Joseph Markman

In an impassioned speech on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Stephen Lynch (D-MA) goes beyond his one minute time limit in calling out his colleagues for a debate that is disgracing the memories of those who built the United States.

"We should not be disgracing their memory – all of those people from Jefferson to FDR and others – by dissolving this government, by defunding it and allowing it to fail," Lynch said. "We owe the American people better than that."

Lynch represents the Eighth Congressional District, which includes Boston.
