Mayor Marty Walsh Dons Denver Broncos Jersey After Pats AFC Loss

The Mayor followed through with his promise of wearing a Peyton Manning jersey following the Pats' loss to Denver in the AFC Championship Game.

New Boston Mayor Marty Walsh stayed true to his word.

The Mayor posted photos to his Twitter account Monday of him wearing a Peyton Manning jersey while speaking with Denver Mayor Michael Hancock on the phone.

Walsh vowed to follow through with the move if the New England Patriots were to lose the AFC Championship Game two weeks ago, which they did, falling to the Denver Broncos 26-16.

Also as part of the friendly wager, Walsh offered five pounds of chocolate turtles from Dorchester's Phillips Candy House and will make a donation of several books to the Denver Public Library. Hancock, for his part, offered Denver green chili and ski equipment if the Pats were to win the game.

"I'm a man of my word, even when it stings," Walsh wrote on Twitter.
