West Roxbury Natives, Brothers to Star in A&E Real Estate Series

John and Danny Griffin will star in the new "60 Seconds to Sell" series on Saturday.

A West Roxbury native and his brother will be featured on a new real estate show on A&E that airs this weekend.

Real Estate broker John Griffin of Charlestown, along with his brother Danny, also a real estate broker, will star in the new "60 Seconds to Sell" series that began earlier this month and airs Saturdays at 12 p.m. on A&E.

"This week's theme is 'return on investment,'" John Griffin told West Roxbury Patch. "We are helping two separate families to clean up their homes so that we can create a frenzy at the auction and get them a return they probably wouldn't have seen otherwise."

The show highlights the brothers, both of whom grew up in West Roxbury and who aim to sell homes within 60 seconds by using a technique they refer to as "The Quick Sale Auction," through which they help homeowners who need to sell their homes quickly by asking them to do "homework" and make simple improvements to the property. They then list the house for half the asking price.

The Griffins then generate buzz around the house to bring in a large open house crowd, after which they auction the home off to the highest bidder.

"We don't just sell the house, we sell it fast and a lot of times for even more than what the sellers are hoping for," Danny Griffin said in a statement. "Our method was gleaned over many years of trying to find the best way to create a market for any property, any time, anywhere in the most professional way possible."

Each episode aims to highlight the emotional impacts of homeowners who are looking to sell their homes.
