A Black and Gold Reward for Holy Name Students' Record-Setting Pajama Drive

Boston Bruins mascot Blades visited the school on Friday. Students also earned a visit from a Bruins player, to be named later.

Holy Name School students emerged as champions of . As a reward, they'll be visited by another champion, this one of the Stanley Cup variety.

By collecting 2,006 pairs of pajamas, Holy Name students earned a visit from a Boston Bruins player to be named later. The number is the greatest ever raised in the drive's five-year history, according to Cradles to Crayons.

As the drive reached its apex last week, Bruins mascot Blades made a visit to the school to thank students for their hard work.

Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization that "collects new and like-new children's items through grassroots community drives and corporate donations," according to its website. "Donations are then processed and packaged by volunteers, and are distributed to disadvantaged children across the state through a collaborative network of social service agencies and school partners."
