Boston Schools Closed Wednesday

Boston's public schools will be closed Wednesday. A late-developing winter storm is expected to dump 8-10 inches of snow in Boston Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

Tuesday evening activities and events at schools have also been canceled.

Neighborhood community centers will open at 7:30 a.m. for children ages 7 and older, according to the Boston Public Schools website.

The decision was announced by Mayor Marty Walsh Tuesday afternoon. The city has declared a snow emergency and parking ban starting at 6 p.m..
