Holy Name Raises More than $1,000 at 'Guys & Gals' Event

The special event was held on May 17.

Students at the Holy Name School in West Roxbury this month took to the dance floor along with their mothers, godmothers, grandmothers, aunts and other special ladies in their lives

Dubbed "Guys and Gals: A Night Out With Your Special Lady," the event was held by Holy Name's Home and School Association on Saturday, May 17 for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

"It was like being our young man's first date, and gave us a chance to show them how to treat a lady," said Anne Macdonald, a Holy Name parent.

More than 130 guests attended, and took part in various dances, including the chicken dance, and took part in various activities. 

Several attendees took home an autographed photo of Mike Carb, tickets to the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, and gift cards to Barnes & Nobles and Roche Brothers, as well as passes to Laser Quest and Monster Golf.

More than $1,000 was raised at the event, Macdonald said.
