Photos: Upper Crust Fundraiser for Cradles to Crayons

The Holy Name School and Upper Crust Pizzeria came together for a good cause.

 

Families of came out on January 31st to support the at the .  

The pizzeria donated 15% of that night's sales to Cradles to Crayons. The total sales were $1500, so $230 was donated to the drive.

Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization that "collects new and like-new children's items through grassroots community drives and corporate donations," according to its website. "Donations are then processed and packaged by volunteers, and are distributed to disadvantaged children across the state through a collaborative network of social service agencies and school partners."

"We have been shopping the sales and estimate this money will enable to get about 70 pairs of warm fleece pajamas for kids in need," said parent Amy Alessi.

And the rumor is that Mrs. Houston, Holy Name's physical education teacher, did a great job as a guest pizza maker.

On Jan. 21 the  with students wearing their bedtime apparel, and collected pajamas. 

Can anyone confirm that Mrs. Houston makes good pizza? Should she give up her day job and make pizza for a living?!
