West Roxbury Academy's Jaylin Green Earns Winter Youth Spotlight Award in Leadership

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino presented the Winter Youth Spotlight Award in Leadership to Jaylin Green, a senior at City Roots Alternative High School at West Roxbury Academy.

The award was given to Green on Sat., Feb. 2, and is offered to a middle or high school student in Boston who has demonstrated exceptional leadership. The winner is chosen by a selection committee comprised of current representatives of the Mayor’s Youth Council, according to a press release.

Green has served as a peer educator with the Boston Public Health Commission’s Start Strong Program since 2008, working to prevent teen dating violence and promote healthy relationships.
