West Roxbury Students Commended for 2013 National Merit Program

Two West Roxbury residents elected class presidents at Roxbury Latin.

 

West Roxbury residents and Roxbury Latin seniors, Patrick Barry and Luke Scheuer, were both named Commended Students in the 2013 National Merit Program. 

Barry was also elected as class president by his senior classmates. As senior class president, Barry's responsibilities range from class-wide events and initiatives, to matters such as prom and fundraising efforts.

Jake Sporn, a seventh-grader at Roxbury Latin and from West Roxbury, was elected as class president by his classmates, too.

About 34,000 high performers on the PSAT are recognized with Commended Status for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition.
