Red Sox Alum & Wally the Green Monster Visit VA Hospital

Patients had the opportunity to mingle with Red Sox visitors and take photos with Wally, Monbouquette, as well the 2004 and 2007 World Series Trophies.

 

On May 18, Red Sox alum Bill Monbouquette, and Wally the Green Monster visited patients at the VA-Hospital in West Roxbury.

The Red Sox Foundation visited seven VA hospitals in New England the week of May 13 to honor veterans in celebration of Veteran’s Affairs Week as part of the Red Sox’ “100 Acts of Kindness” program. 

According to a press relase, the visits were part of the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital’s Home Base Program, which was created in 2009 to help inform and educate the New England community about combat stress and traumatic brain injury.
