Runners to Unite in West Roxbury for Annual Corrib Classic Sunday

Residents take note: Runners will descend on West Roxbury Sunday to take part in the 21st annual Corrib Classic 5K Road Race

The race will kick off at 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 1 at Billings Field on LaGrange Street in West Roxbury, directly behind the Corrib Pub and Restaurant. Interested runners can still register online prior to the event. Proceeds from the race benefit the Corrib Charitable Trust, Inc. 

The course begins at Billings Field and proceeds down LaGrange Street, taking a right onto the VFW Parkway, a right onto Corey Street, a left onto Weld Street, a right onto Maple STreet, a right onto Centre Street, a left onto Bellevue Street, a right onto Howitt Street, a right onto LaGrange Street and a downhill finish to Billings Field, according to the race's information page at CoolRunning.com. An after party will be held at Billings Field following the race, which will include several activities, including pony rides and face painting, as well as a raffle.

Prior to the 5K, a kids run will begin at 10 a.m. at Billings Field. Registration forms can be picked up at the Corrib or at the West Roxbury YMCA, and registration will be open at 9 a.m. the day of the race on the day of the race, according to race organizers. Age groups are as follows:
