Going Green into the Spring!

Going green at Wellesley Dental Group is a goal we have been working toward for years. The environment is certainly important to all of us, and as a business we want to limit our negative impact on the Earth.

  • Our office has recently completed an energy audit and we are looking into solar panel installation. The local solar initiative has been an inspiration for us to re-think our energy consumption and further invest in going green. Creating your own clean energy is not only a great economic choice but also is a step towards a common goal of creating a better environment for our children, with sustainable energy sources and cleaner environment. No matter if you are a business owner and not, you can apply for a free solar assessment  and take advantage of current low solar panel prices, group discounts, a rebate from Wellesley's Light Plant and generous state & federal incentives.
  • For quite some time now, our office has not placed any amalgam/silver fillings in patients' mouths due to the lack of clear research on how they affect a patient's health.  In addition, we have a new system that will separate any amalgam we remove from patients so the material does not enter the waste-water stream.
  •  By taking digital x-rays, we no longer have to use a chemical to process the x-ray film.   This is not only better for the patient but also for the staff members who do not have exposure to those chemicals.
  •  Our office is happily on our way to being a "paperless" office where all records are done by computer, which we know will dramatically reduce the amount of supplies we consume and need to recycle.   In the meantime, to save paper we are using email to update our patients (if they prefer) as well as confirm appointments.    We recycle everything we can and staff members are encouraged to use containers from home for drinking.  Our Wellesley Dental Group tote bags come in handy for bagging groceries and for bringing items to and from work.

As we further our green progress, we will certainly update you. If you prefer to have email communications from our office, instead of paper, please give us a call at 781-237-9071 or email us at smile@wellesleydentalgroup.com to set up an appointment and consultation.

Your little ones and teens are welcome to visit our pediatric dentist Dr. Kim or Dr.PradhanDr. Emad is happy to help with your orthodontic needs. For wisdom teeth extractions or any other oral surgery needs Dr. Ghazi would be more than willing to help.

Does this mean that it's good to have green teeth?
