It will be a week of memories and clean slates, with 2013 wrapping up Tuesday night and the new year beginning Wednesday.

First Night Boston

New Year's Eve arrives on Tuesday, Dec. 31, which means another First Night arrives in Boston. Plan on heading downtown for the New Year's festivities? Be sure to get the rundown of the MBTA's holiday schedule and to check out firstnightboston.org for information. 

Red Sox to Introduce New Year's Eve at Fenway Park

The Boston Red Sox will introduce their first "New Year's Eve at Fenway Park," an ice skating and sledding event for families and children from 5-10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Tickets are on sale now at redsox.com/newyears at $40 per person. The event is part of Citi Frozen Fenway, a 17-day period in which the ice rink will serve as host to a variety of skating and hockey events.

Parkway Running Club Jon Connor Resolution Run

The Parkway Running Club is inviting residents to join in on either a 3-mile or 5-mile social run New Year's Day morning, with some light breakfast refreshments like orange juice and coffee. The run is free and open to everyone. Meet at the gym at the West Roxbury YMCA at 9:30 a.m. on New Year's Day. For folks who choose to join or renew their memberships with PRC ($40 for individual membership, $60 couples), this year's annual club membership gift is a tech shirt with the newly minted PRC logo. 

TD Garden to Host 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships

The 2014 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships will be held from Jan. 5- 12 at Boston’s TD Garden and the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). Hosted by The Skating Club of Boston, the 2014 U.S. Championships are the last qualifying competition prior to the selection of the 2014 U.S. Olympic Figure Skating Team for the Winter Games in Sochi, Russia (Feb. 6-23).
