Monday Essentials: Local Author Comes to West Roxbury Library

A look at the week ahead in West Roxbury.

1. The West Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library  will offer after school help from Monday-Thursday. Mentoring is available during the school year in all subject areas to students in grades K-8 from 3:30-5:30.

2. Boston Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk meet and greet fans at the  Real Deal in West Roxbury on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m.

3. Local author William Martin will discuss his recent novel The Lincoln Letter on Thursday at the West Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library.  An author’s reception will be held at 6 p.m. followed by a talk at 7 p.m. where Martin will sign books.

4. Mark  Delamere  Strong fundraiser will be held  Nov. 16 at Demetri's Function Center.  Mark  Delamere was seriously injured in a car accident on the Arborway while on his way home from Boston Latin Academy on Sept. 6.  He is now in Atlanta after beginning his occupational and physical rehab at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta. 5. The businesses of Fairview Corner will be showcased on WCVB’s Chronicle on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
