10 Things to Do in West Roxbury This Weekend

See what's going on in West Roxbury for the Veterans Day weekend.

Here is a look at what to do in West Roxbury this weekend, Nov. 7-11:

  • There will be karaoke at the West Roxbury pub on Friday night.
  • There will be a craft fair at the Holy Name Parish.
  • An Aerosmith member will be at the Roche Bros. signing autographs.
  • There will be hypnotist at a fundraiser for Mark Delamere.
  • West on Centre will hold Stump Trivia on Sunday night.
  • The public is invited to celebrate Veterans Day at 10:30 am. at the Deutsches Altenheim German Centre.  A Wall of Honor will be presented at the event.
  • West Roxbury Main Streets fun run series will continue at The Parlour on Saturday, November 9: 2pm at 1727 Centre Street.
  • A gaming workshop will be held at 1 p.m. at the West Roxbury Library on Saturday.  There will be lessons for new players-refresher for experienced players. Must preregister at the library to attend.
  • On Thursday at 6:30 p.m.  storyteller and musician Judy Cook will perform "One Man's Civil War." Cook, in period costume, will read the Civil War correspondence of her great-great grandparents and play and sing the tunes of the time. CDs and books will be available for sale.
  • Kevin Cullen & Shelley Murphy, Award-winning Boston Globe journalists will be at West on Centre Thursday at 7 p.m.on Thursday to discuss their  The New York Times best- seller, “Whitey Bulger: America’s Most Wanted Gangster and the Manhunt that Brought Him to Justice.”   Tickets to the event are $25.
