Irish Music Fundraiser on Sunday to Benefit Fallen Boston Firefighters

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Lt. Walsh - Firefighter Kennedy Memorial Fund.

Members of Boston's Irish music community are planning to gather for a special fundraiser this weekend to benefit the Lt. Walsh - Firefighter Kennedy Memorial Fund.

The Firefighters Fleadh (pronounced "flah," an Irish word signifying celebration, according to event organizers) event will be held at the Irish Social Club of Boston, at 119 Park St. in West Roxbury, on Sunday, June 8 from noon until midnight.

The event, held in honor of Boston Fire Lt. Edward Walsh and Firefighter Michael Kennedy, both of whom were killed while battling a Back Bay fire in March, will also feature several musical acts, as well as activities for children, including a moonwalk, sponsored by the West Roxbury YMCA from noon until 3 p.m. For the full schedule of musical performances, click here
