Sam Adams Promotion Event in Downtown Boston

Want to ring in the first weekend of the new year locally? Head into the Stadium Sports Bar & Grill at 148 State St. and enjoy product samples and swag courtesy of Sam Adams. The event starts at 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3.

Open House at the Dedham School of Music


Head over to the Dedham School of Music Open House on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 11 a.m., and learn about the many programs to can choose from. The school's second term starts on Jan. 28, and it is not too early to reserve a slot. In addition to our private lessons, Suzuki instrumental instruction, and Music Playroom early childhood programs, students can learn about the school's new marimba/percussion program designed for students ages 5 and up. 

Firefly Yoga for Teen Athletes with Hania Khuri-Trapper (Westwood)

This class, scheduled for Friday, Jan. 3 at 3:30 p.m., will focus on breathing techniques, developing core strength and stability and releasing tension in tight areas. The attention to breath during yoga is an essential benefit for all athletes. Attendees will learn to stay centered and focused through challenging poses by concentrating on smooth, even inhalations and exhalations, which prepares the athlete to stay mentally focused during competition.

Eric Dittelman Performs at SKY (Norwood)

NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” semi-finalist Eric Dittelman will perform a blend of mind-reading, stand-up and improvisational comedy at SKY located in Norwood on Friday, Jan. 3 at 9 p.m. For $25 per person, guests will enjoy an evening of live entertainment from one of the best in the business. 

For those that wish to make a night of it, SKY’s Executive Chef Andy DiPace will be serving SKY’s extensive menu including braised short rib, garlic herb kale, parmesan risotto, tomato herb beef broth ($28), winter vegetable spaetzel, roasted brussels sprouts, kale, turnips, sweet potatoes, heirloom carrots and herb parmesan spaetzel ($18), and lobster and sweet shrimp ravioli, fresh house made pasta, chives, tomatoes, celery root, angel cream sauce, pecorino dust ($26). Guests of the show that dine at SKY will also receive a complimentary dessert with the purchase on an entrée. Space is limited. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 781.255.8888.

Plugged In Teen Band Program: Two-Day Songwriting & Recording Workshop (Needham)

In conjunction with each of Needham-based Plugged In's benefit concerts, the program offers a songwriting workshop that gives students one more way to give back to the organization they've chosen to support. During this session, students will be rocking and rolling for the Ryan Mancini Charitable Foundation, which supports SUDC research and advocacy. Saturday, Jan. 4 at 1 p.m.
