West Roxbury Weekend: Farmers Market, MG Day at Larz Anderson, & Free Movie in Park

Check out some classic sports cars at Larz Anderson Auto Museum this weekend.

Looking for something to do in West Roxbury or nearby this weekend? It's a slow weekend for events in West Roxbury, so we added two close by that are fun for families.

  • Watching a movie outside is fun, especially on a beautiful night in Adams Park. This Saturday night everyone is welcome to enjoy a free screening of 'Honey, I Shrunk the Kids' starting at 7:30 p.m. The Charles River Church is hosting Children's Movies in the Park with the Rick Moranis classic being shown on an inflatable movie screen. Bring a blanket, maybe something to snack on - but remember to throw away all your trash, or bring it back home with you. Adams Park is centrally-located in Roslindale Village at the intersection of Washington Street and Cummins Highway.
  • At the Larz Anderson Auto Museum on Saturday is a special exhibit - MG Day - of the cars from Morris Garage, which were instrumental in the popularity of the sports car. Car registration is $20 per car. Spectator admission for adults, $10. Military, seniors, students and children 6-12, $5; and children under 6 are free. Museum members are always free. The Museum is open for your viewing until 4 p.m. Lunch will be available on site for purchase. 10 a.m. is when the museum opens. 15 Newton St., Brookline.
  • On Sunday is the Corey Street Farmers Market in West Roxbury from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This week the market welcomes its first bakery - the Great Cape Baking Company from Plymouth. Also, new this week is the City of Boston Credit Union, who is generously sponsoring guest musicians for the rest of the market. This week's musical guest are The Fine Duo, featuring jazz musicians Daniel Winshall and Kira Daglio Fine.
