Boston's Animal Control unit has administrative offices at City Hall and runs an animal shelter and adoption center in Roslindale. The unit handles dog licensing, hosts rabies vaccination clinics, investigates cases of animal abuse, enforces local animal laws and inspects animal kennels, dog groomers and veterinarian offices. The Animal Control unit also supervises a large volunteer animal care program at the Roslindale shelter.
