Havey Beach provides access to the Charles River for kayakers and canoeists. The beach was once "the spot" for summer fun close to half a century ago. The boathouse was renovated in recent years, but it is still boarded up. As of the summer of 2010, there wasn't an actual sand beach, but a path or two that provides access.
The water is calm and not difficult to launch a kayak or canoe into, but most people launch from Millennium Park, which is just a stone's throw away.
