They totaled my car! Literally. Even worse, they were jerks about it.

They had to drive my car to Randolph to get an exhaust leak welded. On the way back, the kid who drove it ran a red light, hit another car, and totaled mine. He injured another driver and received two police citations at the scene. The kid was ok, but my car was destroyed. In looking at the wreckage I could see a bank receipt- he had used my car to run an errand- to make a deposit for McCracken.

Initially, Jason, the owner, was apologetic and said he would help me find a car wholesale (for the amount the insurance company gave me for my car) and do the repair work necessary to fix it up. But the further away we got from the accident the less willing they were to make things right. I finally had to find a car through a private seller. I brought it to McCracken to see what kind of work it would need. They refused to do anything. Jason said, "I've already lost a lot of money on this- we had to pay for the repair to your car. And we had to pay to have your car towed." I could not believe it.

The fact that they destroyed my car? The hours I had to spend researching cars? test driving cars? time spent at the RMV? The fact that I'm being sued because their employee injured someone? Too bad.

The thing we all look for in a mechanic is someone who is honest and trustworthy. McCracken is neither. They destroyed my car. They lied to me. They are dishonest.

Consider yourself warned.
