I always did my own taxes using one of the commercially available tax softwares. Last year, the IRS found some errors and sent me a note with a tax bill. I responded promptly with a lot of information, which thoroughly confused them and I received an even larger bill. My attempts to contact them to resolve the issue were futile. At this point, upon another CPA’s recommendation, I sought the services of Ron Mutascio, an experienced CPA. He grasped the problem immediately, studied all the documents and crafted a concise but clear response to the IRS. Ron promised me that his fee would be fixed regardless of how many times he has to deal with the IRS to resolve this issue. They completely accepted the response and withdrew the charges.
