Havey Beach

Havey Beach provides access to the Charles River for kayakers and canoeists. The beach was once "the spot" for summerMore fun close to half a century ago. The boathouse was renovated in recent years, but it is still boarded up. As of the summer of 2010, there wasn't an actual sand beach, but a path or two that provides access.

The water is calm and not difficult to launch a kayak or canoe into, but most people launch from Millennium Park, which is just a stone's throw away.


Camp Micah

Camp Micah is located in Maine, but its winter headquarters are in Chestnut Hill. Camp Micah is a private JewishMore tradition summer camp, and it has been running for nearly a decade. Campers participate a wide range of activities including but not limited to team sports, individual sports, the arts, waterfront sports, multimedia projects, rope activities, wilderness and hiking.

The business has its ownMore parking lot, a Slurpee machine and the standard convenience store items.

The Kids Club and Preschool Center is a brightly-colored center with a friendly and attentive staff. A professionalMore pianist/accordionist teaches music to the children, and a once-a-week yoga instructor gets the kids to relax and find their inner selves. There is an outside playground, and the center offers a summer camp, too. Full- and half-days, as well as after school programs, are offered.

Banh Mi Ngon serves Vietnamese-style sandwiches, along with appetizers, smoothies and desserts. Choose from meat orMore vegetarian dishes including spring and summer rolls, salads and all kinds of sandwiches. Traditional Vietnamese-style coffee, which is quite strong, is also sold here. 
Hynes Playground

At Hynes Playground, neighborhood sport organizations practice and play games at the soccer/baseball fields, whileMore toddlers enjoy the two age-appropriate playgrounds with water spouts to keep cool during the hot summer months.

There is also a full court basketball hoop where adult pick up games are often played, as well as recreational league games. There is a second basketball court that is smaller, next to the main court. 

There is also an asphalt path around the entire park for walking or biking. Dogs are welcome, but must be leashed.
